Q. Can you remove car wraps?
A. Everyone asks us this question about car wraps.
The answer is: YES. In fact, all is needed is a heat source, we prefer using a heat gun, some experience and a lot of patience, since to make it work and not damage the paint, the vinyl wrap should be heated to reach a certain degree and pulled back slowly in a 45 degree angle. Don’t pull to hard back towards you, instead open your fingers wide spread and evenly bring it back so the clear coat doesn’t get affected, specially on cars or vehicles where the paint job was just recently done.
Some times when the film is been on a car for more than 3-4 years while pulling changes are the lamination can come separate from the print film or base film and this will make it extremely hard to continue the project, instead make sure all is well preheated and pull evenly back and softly. If any residual left after everything is done we can use an orange base solution available at our shop and apply an even coat and leave for 1 min and this will basically melt any residual and you can simply use a cloth or paper towel and wide clean, always after all is done, we wash the car with automotive soap and if another vinyl wrap is to be applied you may re prepare the surface again using isopropyl alcohol.
